<p><span style="font-size: 14px; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', Helvetica, sans-serif;">The western futon is suitable for those who are fascinated by the oriental aesthetic, but does not want to give up the convenience and comfort, those who want a futon softer, thanks to the strategic inclusion of one or more sheets of latex, those who have back pain and is looking for more support, those who want to sleep on a healthy product, natural, and organic, those who are nostalgic for the old wool mattress of his grandmother.</span></p>
<p>The Western-style futon has a thickness that can vary from 14 to 19 inches. Those with a height of 14 cm, cotton or cotton and latex, are the most versatile, because they can be used safely with any type of network or slats, but can still be folded in half.  On the other hand, thin futons do not fold easily, especially if they have a coconut sheet inside that makes them stiffer and are ultimately more similar to our mattresses than to oriental ones.</p>

Western-style futons. A brief guide to terminology.


Kiryu: All futons with the name Kiryu are made of reprocessed cotton. The reprocessed cotton is obtained by annealing the waste material of a previous processing. Compared to virgin cotton, Reworked flaps may have color variations on the inside and have a somewhat stiffer yield.

Adaki: futon with 100% pure cotton filling.

Koto: futon with a coconut slab inside.

Meguro: futon with a single sheet of latex inside.

Plus you'll find luxury futons, with multiple latex and/or coconut sheets

Cotton-only futons have a semi-rigid bearing capacity, which can be enhanced through coconut sheets, or softened through latex.

Pay attention to weight: a double cotton mattress can weigh more than 60 pounds.

All Vivere Zen beds can be used with any of the futons featured in this section.

It is possible to request customizations to estimate. If you are looking for a futon 190 cm long instead of 200 cm in the catalog, do not worry: for this change you won't have to pay any extra and the mattress made will still be considered a standard product, and therefore protected by the right of withdrawal.
